3D Game Level 1 v1 Feedback
What went right was that the level was able to load and the play testers had no issue playing the level. The level was straight forward so the play tester didn't need to stop in order to continue playing the level. They were able to complete the level without getting frustrated or needing assistance to find out what they were doing next. The player was able to learn all the basic controls from the level. They were able to move since the level was decently open, they had to learn how to jump because of the acid pit in the level, and they had to attack chompers in order to continue the level. What went wrong was that the play tester wouldn't know what the checkpoints were (the blue spheres) so when they went right through them they were unsure of what to do next. I had to explain to them what the blue spheres did after the playtest. Also, the level was shorter than I wanted it to be so the players finished the level quick and didn't get much play time.I can improve my level next time by adding more content to my level and maybe having the player learn new controls in a less dangerous situation. For example, I could have the player learn how to jump by using platforms that would have no risk instead of having acid pits where the player could die if they mistime their jump. The acid pits would be incorporated later in the level when the player already built their foundation and knowledge on the controls and how to jump. Making the level longer will certainly help so that the player has more to engage with and can get in a state of flow better.
