2. Scuba Shuffle's Formal Elements

1) Players

  • 2 players
  • Competitive and killer player types
  • Player vs. Player

2) Objective(s)

  • Use attacks to get your opponent to 0 health first

3) Rules

  • One player plays as a shark and the other player is a scuba diver
  • Each player starts with 50 health
  • Players must shuffle their equipment deck at the beginning of the game
  • Players draw equipment cards
  • Players choose to attack, defend, or reroll
  • Players will simultaneously reveal their action to each other
  • Players will roll for additional damage or defense depending on what they chose for their action

4) Procedures

  • Play rock-paper-scissors to select who is the shark and who is the scuba diver
  • Players take player cards that pertain to their character
  • Shuffle equipment decks
  • Each player draws am equipment card to start
  • Both players say their action at the same time
  • Roll dice for additional action points
  • Declare game a draw if both players simultaneously reach 0 health

  • Health points
  • Equipment cards
  • Attack rolls
  • Defend rolls

7) Conflict

  • Certain equipment cards can only be used for a set amount of turns
  • If the equipment card's durability is used up, the player has to spend a turn rerolling their equipment where they can't attack or defend
  • Rolling a 1 on an attack roll will lead to the player's attack missing
  • The opposing player attacks to lower the player's health
  • The opposing player defends to lower the player's damage

8) Outcome

  • 1 player wins, 1 player loses
  • Can result in a tie
